I’ve had many jobs. My favorite was teaching. Before I left the field, I was a National Board Certified Teacher of the gifted and taught first through fifth grades over the course of my career.
In 2015, I took a sabbatical to take care of my family. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. I even brought home all of my teaching equipment, and the enormous children’s book library I had accumulated over so many years. I think I counted 57 boxes! My plan was to return the following year. That didn’t happen. I donated my teaching equipment to the school and my library to a local charity. They were shocked!
Now, I spend time at home with my husband and dogs, Cassie and Ella, and we travel whenever we can. Between our adventures, I take care of my extensive orchid collection, I paint, crochet, and cook. And with all that cooking I make sure I exercise and eat right.
